In 1981, The Charmettes, Incorporated adopted a national thrust to eradicate cancer in our lifetime. In addition to our cancer awareness and education programs, we have contributed more than $950,000.00 to Howard University Cancer Center in Washington, D.C., to support cancer research and services. In 2006, the chemotherapy infusion center was named, "The Charmettes, Inc. Gwendolyn B. Rodgers Chemotherapy Infusion Suite", in honor of the Charmettes long term generous support.
In addition to supporting the national body's financial contributions to Howard University, the Miami-Dade County Chapter has made annual donations to the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami for the past two decades.
Join the Miami-Dade County Chapter of The Charmettes, Incorporated, in their "Give Green" campaign!
This campaign will have a substantial impact at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of UHealth - University of Miami Health System.
Your generous gift to the "Give Green" campaign will directly support Dr. Sophia George, an African-American female physician. Her groundbreaking research, focused on the specific impact of certain cancers on women of African-American and Caribbean descent, is being conducted right here in South Florida. The insights gained from this research will have a far-reaching impact on women globally.
